The move greatly extends the channel's coverage making it available to an additional 1.5 million homes. Carlton Cinema is currently available to 500,000 households as part of Carlton's digital television service, ONdigital.

Jeremy Hallsworth, managing director of Carlton Digital Channels said, "The ONdigital figures are the only way we can compare like with like across the film channels and it is extremely encouraging that Carlton Cinema comes out on top across the board. Not only are these figures great news for Carlton Cinema after our first year ONdigital but they also suggest a rosy future ahead of our cable launch on 1st March."
