Carlton Digital Sales has clinched its first sponsorship deal on
the digital channel, ITV 2.
Vauxhall Vans will sponsor three football programmes, starting at the
end of this month and running until the end of the season in May.
As a free-to-air channel, ITV2 has designed the football programming
with the Vauxhall sponsorship in mind. It starts at 2pm on Saturdays
with Football First, a live news and results programme, followed by
Football Mundial, a summary of world football and finally, Italian
Football Live, broadcast on Sunday evenings.
Mark Hamilton, senior planner at Western International Media, who is
responsible for Vauxhall Vans, said he was impressed by the
broadcaster’s flexible scheduling. Vauxhall Vans is keen to align itself
with sport.
ITV2 is available on Cable & Wireless, Cable London, Telewest, Eurobell
and ONdigital. The audience reach for the digital terrestrial and cable
channel increased from 830,000 to 2.2 million when it launched on
Telewest two weeks ago.
