Carlton Television is offering discounted sales packages for
advertisers who book their spots online.
The trial service, which launched this week, is designed to encourage
more customers to use the Carlton Media Sales website.
Although requests for airtime can now be booked online and e-mailed
directly to the appropriate sales contact, final financial transactions
will be carried out in person.
The first two discounted advertising packages are already up and running
on Carlton’s website.
Carlton Screen Advertising is offering a package called the Female
Premiere Offer. It consists of a series of slots around a group of films
that target 15- to 24-year-old females. The offer is available from 19
May to 29 June.
For online bookers who can meet the Carlton Screen price of pounds
250,0000, the package deal will offer customers screentime value of
The second package offers airtime and sponsorship contracts to support
the ATP Masters Tour tennis event. On top of the standard package, which
is worth pounds 90,000, any advertiser buying online will receive an
airtime support package - including additional spots - thrown in as part
of the deal.
If the two new packages are successful, Carlton intends to launch a
series of deals available for purchase online.
Fran Cassidy, marketing director, sales, said: ’Carlton’s offer of
special, exclusive deals online represents an important progression for
the Media Group. Electronic services such as this will play an
increasingly pivotal role in the success of our group.’
In another move, Martin Bowley, chief executive of Carlton Television,
has confirmed that the station will soon launch a string of interactive
ads to keep up with the developing market.
