Cinema sales house Carlton Screen Advertising is beefing up its
sales divisions and scouring media agencies for new talent, in response
to the boom in the film industry.
The company has recently hired two new client sales managers, both with
agency backgrounds. Jo Wade, previously a media planner at MediaVest,
will join the company next week along with Andrew Grive from Lansdown
Conquest.
Carlton Screen has also recruited two client sales assistants and is now
seeking another to join the team, as well as a sales assistant for its
agency sales division.
A spokesperson for Carlton Screen said that the latest recruitment drive
reflects the growth in cinema audiences and advertising.
’Film is back in vogue and cinema advertising has been climbing steadily
in popularity,’ she said. ’Advertising Association figures show that
it’s one of the fastest growing media in the UK. We are expanding our
sales team to accommodate the new business and need sales people with a
passion for the film and entertainment industry.’
Carlton Screen now has a 70 per cent market share in the UK, according
to figures from the Cinema Advertising Association and AC Nielsen.
