Carlton shareholders approve Technicolor sale

Carlton Communications’ shareholders have formally approved the sale of video film processing business Technicolor to Thomson Multimedia for £1.41bn.

LONDON (Brand Republic) - Carlton Communications’ shareholders have formally approved the sale of video film processing business Technicolor to Thomson Multimedia for £1.41bn.

The sale has been approved by French, EU and US competition authorities and is expected to complete on March 16.

The deal was announced in December last year. Thomson will give Carlton £0.93m in cash and 15.5m shares. In return, Carlton will make a $15m (£10.32m) investment in TAK, an interactive joint venture between Thomson and Microsoft.
