Carlton Communications and the retail group, WH Smith have formed a joint venture internet partnership that will see the two cross-promote each otherís online businesses.
As part of the deal Carlton will provide £15 million-worth of internet, cinema and television advertising to promote the new entertainment and ecommerce partnership.
The deal will see Carlton and WH Smith co-brand, link and cross-promote their websites; Carlton will promote the WH Smith retail service on Carlton.com and through all of its other media channels; WH Smith will handle Carltonís ecommerce needs; Carlton will provide content and sell ads across the two companiesí websites.
