CCI gives relaunch to ZenithOptimedia

ZenithOptimedia has won an international brief from the US body Cotton Council International to relaunch its Cotton USA brand.

CCI, which promotes cotton products, has appointed the agency to handle media planning and buying for a $3 million campaign in its key markets of the UK, Italy and Germany.

A press and online campaign, created by CCI's design agency, Kugel, will run for three months from later in March. It will be the first European activity from CCI for five years.

ZenithOptimedia, which won the account after a three-way pitch, will target a 20- to 40-year-old female audience.

William Bettendorf, the European director for Greater Europe at CCI, said: "ZenithOptimedia is the perfect choice for our relaunch of the Cotton USA brand across Europe, thanks to its strong international network and ability to leverage additional coverage.

"The proposals were judged by our European network and ZenithOptimedia had the panel's unanimous vote. It is amazing that each country manager, in addition to two of our global managers in Washington DC, all agreed on the same vendor."

CCI launched in 1956 to promote products manufactured with American cotton in overseas markets.
