The monthly title, published through Media 10, is to close this week after just 10 issues. The title, which featured the Channel 4 logo prominently on its cover, failed to build an audience to capitalise on the success of the broadcaster's homes and lifestyle programming.
Industry sources suggest that the title's circulation in the competitive homes market had been as low as 22,000 over recent months. Media 10 will continue to publish sister Channel 4 title Grand Designs.
A spokesperson for Channel 4 said: "Channel 4 has a strong reputation as the UK's leading broadcaster of property and lifestyle programming and we launched 4Homes aiming to bring this to the magazine sector. Since its launch 10 months ago 4Homes has brought a fresh approach to the homes magazine market and we remain very proud of the product. However, in a crowded market we have been unable to find a sustainable audience for 4Homes and we therefore intend to cease publication."
