- The US's largest bank, the Chase Manhattan Corporation, has appointed FCB to its consolidated $75 million worldwide advertising business.
FCB won the business following a four way pitch, where it fought it out against Grey, Bozell and McCann-Erickson. The review kicked off in February.
The appointment marks the first time that Chase has centralised is advertising. The account had previously been split between McCann-Erickson, New York, which handled the national consumer and retail campaign, and the now-defunct Wells BDDP in New York, which handled the corporate and wholesale side.
The account will be handled by FCB New York. Brendan Ryan chairman and chief executive officer of FCB, commented: "Chase is a fabulous brand with a fantastic story to tell. That, coupled with a great bunch of people an agency could not ask for anything more."
Chase merged with Chemical Bank in 1995.
