D’Arcy has appointed Chris Palengat, the former client services
director at Lowe Howard-Spink, as European account director for Mars
The brand was handled out of the agency’s Paris office, but will now be
run from London. Palengat will work closely with Rudy Prajza, the
agency’s global managing director on Mars.
Palengat joined Lowe in 1993 and worked with some of the agency’s key
clients, which included UDV, Weetabix, Lloyds Bank, Braun and Avis
He left in July after the agency was fired from the UDV roster in April
and its brands were handed over to J. Walter Thompson.
’I relish the opportunity to build on the work done thus far throughout
Europe,’ Palengat said.
Palengat’s career in advertising began in 1982 when he joined JWT in
Madrid as an account executive before moving to BMP DDB. He moved to
Abbott Mead Vickers in 1990 as an account director, working across a
range of accounts including Royal Bank of Scotland, the Health Education
Authority, and Rolling Rock.
Barry Cook, the managing director at D’Arcy, said: ’His enthusiasm for
the task here made it a perfect match.’
