Chris Rendel sells Windmill to Bright

LONDON - The independent agency Bright has bought the advertising agency the Windmill Partnership for an undisclosed sum.

The deal will see Windmill merged into Bright to bolster its service across brand advertising, direct and digital. Windmill, launched eight years ago by the former FCB chief executive Chris Rendel, has clients including London South Bank University, Priory Healthcare and the NHS.

Bright, which launched in 2002, has clients including RSPCA, Thomson Holidays and Fidelity. Rendel will join the management team of the enlarged agency to work alongside the creative director Chris Martin and the digital creative director Richard Atkinson.

The Windmill non-executive chairman, Sir David Bell, is also the director of Pearson and chairman of the Financial Times Group. He will join the Bright board as the chairman.
