Citroën's idents for its sponsorship of Channel 4's First Dates combine heightened French romance with a quintessential British sense of humour.
In each spot, a couple in a Citroën C3 initially appears to be caught up in a deeply emotional moment of love, desire or heartbreak – cue the orchestral music and passionate dialogue. But as the scenes reach their climax, a sudden twist reveals their true context, and romance becomes farce. This is the first work for the car brand by Havas London, as Citroën unveils a new look and feel in the UK. The ads were created by Stephen Cross and Simon Connor, and directed by Camila Zapiola through Bold.
