Civic Nation addresses vaccine hesitancy with nurse's touching story

The 'Made to Save' campaign's spot, created by Mekanism, is inspired by true events.

Nonprofit organization Civic Nation partnered with The Creative Alliance to address COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy among BIPOC and Latinx communities for the "Made to Save" campaign. The spot "Carla," which is inspired by a true story, follows nurse practitioner Carla Brown, who lost her husband to COVID-19 in 2020. Brown honors his memory by helping to vaccinate the elderly, the homebound and those who don’t have access to a close vaccine site in her community of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. "I’m on a personal mission to get as many people as I can to receive this vaccine," Brown says. "It was made to save us."
