Chris Clark, the Bates Dorland managing director whose
responsibilities were diluted in a recent management shake-up (Campaign,
26 September), is joining the senior team at the Bates agency in New
York.
He is one of four executive vice-presidents to become involved in senior
management changes precipitated by Bill Whitehead, the chairman of Bates
North America.
He joins a team looking at international new-business prospects for
Michael Bungey, worldwide chairman of the Bates network, as Bates
prepares to demerge next month from Cordiant.
Meanwhile, Clark will continue to lead the network’s pitch for the
Hilton International hotels business, being contested with Young &
Rubicam in San Francisco, Daley & Associates, an Interpublic-owned
Californian shop, J. Walter Thompson in Los Angeles and the US-based
Bozell Worldwide.
