Clear Channel Radio Sales has poached Sonia Simpson from Scottish &

Irish Radio Sales to run its third national spot advertising

division.

Simpson, who was sales manager at Scottish & Irish Radio Sales for eight

years, takes on the newly created role of senior group business

manager.

CCRS is looking for four account managers and a host of account planners

to work within Simpson’s department.

Group business managers Mike Daly and David Saunders will continue to

run the two existing national sales divisions. Bruce Clayton, former

group business manager at Jazz FM and CCRS, left the company when the

new sales structure was announced.

The sales house is also on the verge of announcing the appointment of a

head of sponsorship and promotions for Jazz FM. The role was previously

held by Melissa Whitty, who left CCRS before its merger with Katz

Radio.

The incoming recruit currently works in magazine publishing and has yet

to resign his or her position.

David Goffin, commercial director of CCRS, said: ’Simpson’s arrival

marks the third senior appointment to be made in recent weeks as CCRS

gears up to take on new business.’

In a separate move, CCRS has renewed its contract with

Wolverhampton-based station The Wolf 107.7.
