- Clear Channel International has expanded into Switzerland and Poland with the 82 per cent acquisition of outdoor advertising company Plakanda.
Plakanda is the second largest outdoor advertiser in both markets, with approximately 9,500 billboard and kiosk sites in Switzerland and 5,000 in Poland.
The privately-held Plakanda will continue to be run by Peter Gmur who will retain his title of chairman and chief executive officer.
Roger Parry, chief executive officer of Clear Channel, said: "We have been seeking a route into the important Swiss and Polish markets for sometime. We are very excited to start working with a strong management team that has greatly expanded this business recently."
