5.47am Land in Lima on the 8.27pm flight from Ulan Bator.
6.15am Helicopter to Machu Picchu. Call assistant to instruct her to call the wife and tell her I've arrived. Call with George (Bush) to discuss Iran issue and plans for expansion.
7.45am Check in at six-star hotel. Quick astanga yoga session while local bakery prepares my breakfast. Shower and whiten my teeth.
8.00am Check out of six-star hotel.
8.15am Stretch sedan chair to offices carved into mountain. Read best pitch document ever. E-mail other pitching agencies on the BlackBerry and tell them not to bother. Review print work for our new industrial drain cleaner client.
9.00am Global executive emperors meeting kicks off with blue-sky "ideation" session. Sprinkle my conversation with expressions such as "media-neutral" and "360-degree thinking". Colleagues are impressed.
10.30am-11.30am Federer turns up for a knockabout. Beat him.
11.30am Back into the meeting for more "thought-partnering".
11.32am While "imagineering", I have the genius idea of opening an agency in Second Life. Bet nobody's thought of that!
11.34am Leave for flight to Dubai. Spend half the helicopter ride messaging my 12 assistants, other half playing Solitaire.
11.43am David Hockney calls again trying to get a job in our studio. He'd be surplus to requirements, so politely put the phone down on him.
11.45am Arrive at the airport.
11.45am-12.30pm Calls to the G8 leaders. Log on to Friendster to increase the pec size on my avatar. My busy life doesn't allow for real friends, only virtual ones.
12.30pm Board flight to Dubai. Grab some sleep in between six meals.
6.20pm Arrive in Dubai. Update my blog while in Jacuzzi of stretch Hummer on route to a connecting flight to LAX. Something wrong with my hit counter: it's not going up. More food on the flight, including roast swan and albino tiger terrine.
11.30pm Arrive in LA for next day's pitch. Pope (Benedict XVI) is running through some ideas. Typical day, loads of work and the privilege of dealing with creative work that more resembles art than advertising. Just another regular day at the bleeding edge of the advertising coal face.
