Name: James Studholme Job: Managing director, Blink Productions Professional mission: Global domination. No, really Personal mantra: It's better to travel than to arrive. Also, a prophet is without honour in his own land
6.50am Woken by youngest son, Flynn, four. Breakfast. While doing the school run, discuss the time machine that Rafe, seven, is inventing. Breakthrough imminent, apparently.
8.30am Pilates at Alan Herdman's. Lots of bendy old ladies from St John's Wood. I'm the youngest by 20 years. Now ... that feels good.
9.15am Arrive at Blink. First of many cups of tea.
10.00am Meeting with Ben Ib, an excellent young director at our music video arm, Colonel Blimp. We're developing a short film called Krasnoyarsk 505. Very dark.
11.15am Spot two senior creatives from one agency meeting with a senior account director from another in Starbucks opposite Blink. Mark their cards.
12.15pm Meet a new young director. He's a Latvian in a bobble hat. And a kilt. And hopeless.
1.00pm Lunch with Frances Royle, Bartle Bogle Hegarty's head of TV. She's wearing patent leather stilettos that might make even Rosa Kleb blanch. I'm wearing a lilac linen suit and a look of faint terror.
2.30pm Catch up with John Hassay. Projects in the offing for GLC, Bloc Party, Hard-Fi, Rolling Stones and White Stripes. Ruminate on the big metaphysical question: can a music video company not lose money?
3.30pm Meeting at The Mill. Look at the new Pleix masterpiece for Pontiac. Learn that the directors Lynn Fox are confirmed on new Audi film for BBH. Fantastic!
4.00pm Dougal Wilson, our resident boy genius, shows us his new Orange "dance" ad. We're all overwhelmed. Some weeping.
5.00pm Weekly call with Diane McArter, who runs our new LA hotshop, called Furlined, in LA.
6.00pm Meeting with the legendary Mark Denton. Approve all his ideas on Blink branding. He's working on various delicious new products. I love what he's done for us.
6.30pm More calls to America.
8.00pm Pub quiz with Fat Bob Campbell, John Cherry and Charlie Skinner. As usual, undone by paucity of soap opera knowledge.
10.30pm Return to the Dickensian squalor of Shepherd's Bush home.
11.30pm Bed. Reading Julian Cope's autobiography at the moment. Quite weird.
12.00am Lights out.
