8.00am Lift into work with wife Jules, who reminds me to be home by 6.30 tonight to take over from nanny as she (Jules not nanny) is working late on pitch.

8.30am Quick e-mail to Tom Vick (DFGW/Forest Green Rovers) and Richard Morris (DDB/Aston Villa) to discuss how our teams did over the weekend.

8.45am Discussion with Paul Phillips (AAR managing director), who has just returned from Adforum in New York about agency presentations and new products.

9.00am Review revised and new AAR reels from WCRS, M&C Saatchi, 23red and Lowe.

9.30am Finish conversations with agencies about potential conflict with client 089/06. Try to ask questions which don't reveal much.

9.31am Phone call from Campaign asking about client ref. 089/06. Various guesses, none are correct.

9.45am Go through agency submissions for tomorrow's screening meeting with client to ensure we've everything we need.

11.00am Make up project name for new client that needs to keep its identity secret as long as possible.

11.05am Revise project name as nobody can remember who it is for.

11.15am Meeting with Kerry Glazer (AAR chief executive) and team at Mischcon de Reya to discuss a client seminar on TUPE.

2.00pm Meeting with start-up agency that wants to understand what clients are looking for from new agencies.

3.00pm Write credentials presentation for potential client. Try and remember advice that we give agencies.

5.00pm Catch-up meeting with Caspar and Gav from Shop. Decide to go to pub, which is a shame as it is one of my non-alcohol-drinking days. Discuss their recent pitches and move back into London from Primrose Hill.

6.25pm Frantic call to get nanny to drive over to Kerry's house and leave 15-month-old Jack there with her nanny.

7.45pm Drive to Kerry's to pick up Jack, who seems happy to stay there watching Teletubbies.

8.15pm Thank goodness for Sky+. Watch EastEnders, Spooks and Football League review before Jules gets home.

11.00pm Check ebay for any new Brighton and Hove Albion memorabilia before bed.
