Close-Up: 24 Hours with ... Xanthe Arvanitakis, Good Technology

Name: Xanthe Arvanitakis Job: Managing director, Good Technology Professional mission: Keep it simple Personal mantra: Don't worry

6.30am Eighteen-month-old daughter/alarm clock goes off: time for her milk and to get up and get ready. She is very helpful and will usually unravel the loo roll and wrap herself up in the towel.

7.30am In the kitchen, breakfast all round. As it's a Monday, briefing morning: what the week ahead looks like for the nanny and my daughter, which of us are going to be back in time, food delivery, note for the cleaner ...

8.00am Nanny arrives and I'm out of the door. Interviewing someone at 8.30am, so hop on the back of hubby's scooter to be in town by 8.15am. Time for a quick coffee and a scan through the e-mails to delete the junk mail that has come in overnight and prioritise.

8.30am Interview. We are always on the lookout for talented people, so interviewing most weeks. Today it is for the production director role.

9.00am Grab cab to Euston to meet the group account director and dash up to Audi in Milton Keynes for a planning meeting. We're reviewing what we want to achieve this year and starting to get our planning in place for 2006. Review planned model launch; discuss where the focus should be, in particular role for digital, and discuss a creative opportunity that's coming up.

2.00pm Back in Euston. Thank God for the new M&S. Grab a salad and back to the office.

2.30pm Back-to-back internal meetings that range from resource planning to reviewing client presentation. Spend time with the creatives; reviewing some online campaign work we are producing for Canon. Delighted by the quality ...

4.30pm Quick half-hour with my financial director for the usual check on what's happening on the numbers front and any group issues that have come up.

5.00pm Quick sort through the e-mails, answer as many as I can, follow up on a few things ...

6.00pm ... and interviewing again ...

7.30pm Some of the team are in the local pub. Grab a quick drink and check up on what the general mood in the business is.

8.30pm Back home. I've missed bath time but the little one is up having a run around in the garden, gives me a huge kiss and hug as I come in through the door.

10.30pm Bedtime reading ... Quarter three re-forecast. Asleep in five minutes.
