Stefano Hatfield chooses VW’s (yes, VW’s) new press ad for the Bora
from BMP DDB: ’Elly, and several other of Campaign’s reporters, hate
this ad, believing it too clever for its own good. I think that VW and
BMP should be commended yet again for trying to get across a message
(the V5’s performance) without resorting to car ad cliches. Yes, one
might not get it immediately, but since when was it bad to create
advertising that makes you think? Executed with the customary wit and
style.Bet the client gulped a bit.’
