Clydesdale seeking ad and DM agency

LONDON - Clydesdale Bank is looking for an agency to handle its advertising and direct marketing business in Scotland.

The company, which is owned by National Australia Bank, has approached a number of agencies with a view to a competitive pitch.

An agency is sought to build the Clydesdale brand in the Scottish market. The bank is also looking to increase its direct contact with both prospective business clients and consumers.

The decision to build on its marketing activity has been taken on the back of continued growth of Clydesdale and NAB's other business, the Yorkshire Bank.

In November, NAB posted a profit increase for both banks of 16.7% to £454m following an 8.7% rise in income to £1.19bn.

In October this year, Clydesdale upped its profile in Scotland by signing an £8m deal to become the headline sponsor of the Scottish Premier League.

Clydesdale also sponsors the Scottish Commonwealth Games team.
