The organisation, which ?collects and delivers blood to UK hospitals, is looking for an agency to help raise awareness of the importance of ?giving blood and encourage more people to donate.

The process is being led through COI, and a number of agencies have been contacted regarding the business.

A small number of shops will be shortlisted to pitch for the account over the next month, with the successful agency winning a two-year contract.

In the past, Kitcatt Nohr Alexander Shaw has worked with the National Blood Service on its DM business. The agency was first appointed to the account in October 2002 after a four-way pitch.

Last year, the National Blood Service retained Delaney Lund Knox Warren as its above-the-line agency.
