Patrick Collister, executive creative director and vice-chairman of
Ogilvy & Mather, has quit the agency.
He plans to open up a creativity training centre called Creative
Matters, which will aim to educate both agency staff and clients about
the creative process. It will be run from his house in Kent.
Collister said: ’Other Ogilvy offices have been looking to London for
training of their creative people. They are crying out for hands-on
instruction. Clients also say creative judgment is something they want
to learn about.’
O&M has been searching for a new creative director since Collister was
promoted to vice-chairman six months ago.
Paul Simons, chairman of the Ogilvy Group, said an appointment is
’imminent’. He added: ’The creative consultancy is a perfect fit for
Patrick. He is liked enormously. We will be helping him in terms of
encouragement, advice, financing and we will flag it up with clients.’
