Confex lineup focuses on international destinations

Industry event International Confex has revealed its 2013 show will have a global flavour, with 70% of space already booked.

Organiser UBM Live said visitor bureaus from Turkey, India and Norway have signed up exhibit, along with the Kenyatta Conference Centre in Kenya.  

Destination Management Companies such as Malta, Italy, Germany, Morocco and Spain are also confirmed for the new 'Destination Village' area.

Confex 2013 will take place from 19 – 21 March 2013 at Excel, alongside sister show Live Experience which is a rebranded and refreshed version of last year's International Outdoor Event Expo (IOEX).

Exhibiting destinations from the UK include Sheffield, Birmingham, Scotland, Belfast, Bath and Liverpool.

Next year's International Confex will be bolstered by a week-long programme of industry events dubbed Confex Week, including a party for its 30th anniversary.

UBM also announced new and returning names from its 'Something Special' sector and the growing technological arena, including Turning Technologies, Concep, Digital Design and Media, Cocconex and Animate & Create.  

James Samuel, event manager for Confex, said: "The quality of exhibiting destinations is already fantastic. The UK market sits as either the first or second largest inbound market for the majority of countries both within Europe and further afield in the US, Asia, and South America. It is therefore crucial that we continue to satisfy this demand from our buyers which is why we’ve taken the step to launch the Destination Village."
