Terence Conran, the design guru and restaurateur, is to launch a
new lifestyle magazine, which will be sold on newsstands.
The magazine will be called Live It and it will contain features on
food, interiors, homeware, design, travel, fashion and entertaining.
Priced at pounds 3.25, it will be distributed through Conran restaurants
and shops in the UK and overseas, as well as being sold on
The contract publisher, Axon Publishing, has won the competitive pitch
to produce the magazine, which will be launched as a quarterly
The first issue will be published on 4 November and, if after four
issues the magazine is judged to be a success, Axon anticipates that it
will go bi-monthly.
Susie Muir, the publisher of Live It at Axon, said: ’The Conran
experience isn’t just about food - it’s very much about luxury and
lifestyle. The magazine is a wonderful opportunity for advertisers. It
provides a top-class readership, coupled with the benefits of
association with the Conran name.’
Live It’s editorial director at Axon Publishing, Paul Keers, added: ’The
Conran name now has an enormous breadth of influence. It suggests a
particular contemporary style and discernment, which we can reflect
editorially across this wide range of subjects.’ Keers will oversee the
magazine’s editorial content alongside Simon Willis, the communications
director of Conran Holdings.
Live It is Conran’s second venture into the magazine market, following a
one-off publication called Eat It, which was published in May by Conran
restaurants. Eat It had a cover price of pounds 2.95 and its
