Corona seeks agency for pan-Euro task

Grupo Modelo, the Mexican brewer, is looking for an agency to work on a pan-European brief for its flagship beer brand, Corona Extra.

The company has approached a number of UK and European agencies about the business. It has issued a brief out of its Spanish office that is believed to include TV and press elements.

Corona Extra, which is distributed in the UK by Charles Wells Limited, has had no recent above-the-line presence, and has focused its spend on below-the-line and experiential marketing. It sponsors the round of the World Superbike Championship that takes place at Silverstone in May.

Grupo Modelo, which has a portfolio of six beer brands, is 49 per cent owned by Anheuser-Busch.
