John S. Clarke Productions has doubled its directing team by hiring a

second director.

Joining Clarke at the West London outfit is the 23-year-old graduate,

Tom Hooper. Hooper recently directed a commercial with Delaney Fletcher

Bozell for Samsung mobile phones called ‘kissing couple’.

Previously, Hooper directed a short film, Painted Faces, which ran at

the 1991 London Film Festival and was shown on Channel 4.

Mark Stothert, head of production at John S. Clarke, commented: ‘It is

nice to have someone on board who can help to take the company on and

broaden its portfolio. He is very strong on visuals and performance, and

being so young, he is desperate to be innovative.

‘We were not eagerly searching for someone at the time we came across

Tom, but I was impressed. It is like working with a mature film

director.’

John S. Clarke credits to date include the Standard Life ad, ‘colourful

life’, with Faulds Advertising, Shell’s ‘love bite’ with Publicis and

the Daily Telegraph’s ‘birthday suit’ with J. Walter Thompson.
