Craik Jones lands Unilever DM work

LONDON - Craik Jones Watson Mitchell Voelkel has strengthened its position on Unilever's direct marketing roster by securing the DM accounts for PG Tips, Sure, Colman's and Knorr.

The agency landed the PG Tips business following a competitive shoot-out against a number of undisclosed agencies, but was handed the Sure, Knorr and Colman's accounts without a pitch.

The move will come as a blow to the incumbents OgilvyOne and Chemistry, which handled Knorr and Sure respectively. Colman's did not have an incumbent agency.

Craik Jones, which also works on Unilever's Surf, Bertolli, Hellmann's and Carte D'Or business, will now take responsibility for CRM and acquisition activity for the new accounts.

The news comes shortly after Unilever handed the direct marketing business for Slimfast to Tullo Marshall Warren. In August, the agency won the account from the incumbent, Chemistry, without a pitch.
