A Creative Tour de Force: Frank Dopheide Dusseldorf, Germany

Frank Dopheide, 42, is the chairman and creative director of Grey Dusseldorf/Germany. He began his advertising career at Grey Dusseldorf in 1990.

During his five years as a copywriter at the agency, Dopheide helped to create award-winning campaigns for P&G, Visa and Deichmann.

While he was the executive creative director of Publicis Groupe's BMZ, the agency was named 1999 Agency of the Year. Returning to Grey in 2004, Dopheide became the first creative to chair Germany's second-largest agency group. He is on the Film jury at this year's Cannes Advertising Festival.

Karneval in February is Dusseldorf's answer to Mardi Gras. Get up at 10am. Have breakfast at the Zicke cafe. Head to the City Hall square, where Karneval begins, at 11am. Drink Altbier. Meet thousands of nice people wearing strange costumes. Drink more Altbier. Walk to the Ratinger Strasse, the heart of Dusseldorf's old town. Learn to sing songs you've never heard before. - Tell us about the ad you've chosen to feature on this page

The "vet" ad for Mr Proper, an iconic P&G detergent brand in need of revitalisation.

The Toni Gard store on the Ko.
