Crocs creates augmented reality-enabled Jibbitz shoe charms

Crocs has stepped into app territory, allowing kids to interact with its Jibbitz shoe charms via smartphone-activated augmented reality tech.

Jibbitz, which was acquired by Crocs in 2006, has launched a range of four charm packs for boys and girls.

After downloading a free AR app created by Zappar, kids can then use the camera lens of a smartphone to transform a charm into interactive characters, objects and games.

Challenges include a paint-ball-style tank game and a 'pet salon' where kids can preen a virtual kitten.
