I am a by-product of reading an obnoxious amount of commentary across the internet, which, in turn, informs my insight, ideas and opinions.
Since the genesis of the internet, I have been, and likely always will be, outrageously influenced by the day-to-day feedback between humans on every issue that is brewing in culture, whether it is positive, negative, lighthearted or serious. My infatuation is consuming the comments not just the content.
With that said, the pieces of culture that influence me are very, very meta and incredibly macro. There are billions and billions of opinions and conversations shared across platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Reddit, TikTok, YouTube – you name it.
These conversations can range from "the hot take on celebrity X’s wardrobe at Anna Wintour’s Met Gala" (pictured, above) to someone’s reaction after seeing an incredible play in sports, or to a political upset, or a rally, or a government shift, or, possibly, an election.
It is the collective culture’s ability to publicly share their thoughts and opinions in real time on the internet.
My digital agency, VaynerMedia, draws its entire strategy, thesis and cultural capabilities from that theme.
It is a theme that I also live by. It’s the reality of the progressive nature and the way we think about strategy and creative execution in a 2019 world.
I do that as a human, as "Gary Vee", every day, and it is VaynerMedia’s objective and aspiration to do that with many more clients. That is the essence of "us" as a full-service agency.
