Campaign Screen and the D&AD are hoping to find advertising's next big directing star with the launch of New Directors 2001.
The competition, which is in association with the film and music website getoutthere.bt.com, is open to those who have been directing for less than two years.
Applicants must submit a two-minute showreel containing at least one ad or test commercial. Other work can include animation, graphics, short films or music videos.
'People are turning to directing in droves but what they find is the same-old faces getting the best work. We want to give someone else a chance,' Campaign Screen's editor, Lisa Campbell, said.
The prize includes two days of free post-production, and will be presented at an award ceremony in May. Winning work will also feature on the BT and D&AD websites and on Campaign Screen.
