D'Arcy has created a new 'hedgehog' commercial as part of its child road safety campaign for the Department for the Environment, Transport and the Regions.
Like previous executions, the ad is directed at seven- to 12-year-olds.
It aims to combat the fact that around ten children are killed or seriously injured in road accidents in the UK every day.
The 30-second spot uses the 70s song Staying Alive. We see two hedgehog brothers, accompanied by three friends, showing children how to cross the road safely while singing and dancing to the tune.
The ad, which breaks on 20 October, will be followed by another spot a week later that is timed to coincide with the clocks changing.
The second spot highlights the need to 'be safe, be seen' as the evenings get darker, and encourages children to wear bright, reflective clothing during the dark winter months.
The campaign was written by Andy Powell and art directed by Olly Robinson. The production company was Slinky Pictures.
Media planning and buying is by MediaVest.
