The idea for The Dandy Lab came about when knitwear designer, Julia Bainiaksinaite, and fashion product developer, Peter Jeun Ho Tsang, decided that it was time for a revolution in the way that smaller brands could sell and interact with their customers.
Opening last week, the men’s lifestyle shop uses innovative technologies to promote a two-way conversation between the British designers they stock and their customers.
"The idea behind The Dandy Lab is to provide not just a platform for British makers to sell their products, but also for retail technology companies and start-ups to showcase their technologies and test them in a real customer-facing environment," said Bainiaksinaite.
"It’s not just a shop, it’s also a laboratory for retail technology."
Features range from a digital catalogue of the stories behind the brands, to Cisco video conferencing systems which will allow customers to talk ‘face-to-face’ with designers about their products.
