Danone has the two leading bottled-water brands in the UK: Evian and Volvic. It is understood to be increasing its marketing spend in the UK, as it seeks to capitalise on the fact that consumers are turning away from fizzy drinks.
The company, part of the French dairy giant Groupe Danone, retains Euro RSCG as its above-the-line agency on Evian, while Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe/Y&R works on the Volvic brand.
The most recent work promoting Evian was the annual "Detox with Evian" push in January as well as an ad campaign by Euro RSCG.
Volvic is promoted online in the UK via a website that builds on the long-standing "volcanicity" campaign. The site went live in August and was created by the Kent-based promotions agency SMP.
Carat handles the UK media buying for Danone, as well as the planning, after winning it from Starcom last year.
Danone has plans to move into products that are fortified with vitamins and calcium, as well as the Volvic Touch of Fruit flavoured range.
