Britton has been at Carlsberg for 21 years, but shows no sign of complacency. Over the past 12 months, he’s launched Carlsberg Blackcurrant and Carlsberg Citrus, unveiled award-winning campaigns around the brand’s sponsorship of England in the FIFA World Cup and secured a major deal with BT Sport to screen live sport in pubs. Colleagues remark on his strategic nous and commitment to always focusing on the customer’s perspective. Having started out as a graduate trainee running pubs, there is not an inch of the business that he doesn’t understand. Internally, his people skills are famous, as is the fact that he’s a traditionalist who believes that the very best social media remains a conversation over a pint.
