Dave Droga named president of Cannes 2006 film and press juries

The Cannes International Advertising Festival has appointed Dave Droga, the former worldwide chief creative officer of Publicis, as the president of the 2006 film and press juries.

Droga, who quit his Publicis job in August this year to launch a joint venture called Drogafive, is associated with 45 Lions and two Grands Prix at Cannes.

Drogafive, a brand ideas and entertainment agency, launches next year with bases in New York and Los Angeles.

Droga, an Australian, said: "I am extremely flattered to be the jury president. Cannes has always been very good to me and I hope to reciprocate as much as possible."

Former jury presidents include TBWA's John Hunt and BBDO's Marcello Serpa.
