David Kean, the business development director at BMP DDB, is

leaving the agency to join Diversified Agency Services, Omnicom’s

marketing services arm.

Kean’s role at DAS has not yet been confirmed but he is expected to head

its UK arm. He will report to Anthony Wreford, the president and chief

executive of DAS Europe, and his responsibilities are expected to

include business development and the integration of the group’s

companies.

DAS acts as an umbrella agency for the bulk of Omnicom’s below-the-line

interests. Companies within the group’s portfolio include the three

international PR networks Porter Novelli, Ketchum and Fleishman Hillard,

the direct marketing agency WWAV Rapp Collins, plus specialist companies

including the lobbying outfit GPC, the financial agency Gavin Anderson

and the technology specialist Brodeur A Plus.

Kean will be replaced at BMP by Richard Morris, a board account director

who has been with the agency for 12 years. Morris has worked on the

Autoglass, boo.com and National Savings accounts.

Chris Cowpe, the joint managing director of BMP, said: ’David has done a

fantastic job for BMP. He will be a success wherever he goes.’

Kean moved to BMP in February 1996 in a bid to improve the agency’s

new-business efforts following a disappointing run.

He has added a raft of new business to the BMP portfolio including the

recent account wins for Hellmann’s.
