Euro RSCG Wnek Gosper has taken the bold step of promoting a

planner with only 18 months’ experience to the position of planning

director.

Neil Dawson joined the agency less than two years ago, having spent ten

years as a qualitative researcher. Before joining Euro RSCG, he was one

of the founding directors of Crucible Research, where he specialised in

youth brands.

Dawson explained: ’I was looking for a fresh challenge and wanted to

become more involved in the development of strategies.’ While at Euro

RSCG he has worked on some of the agency’s biggest clients, including

Cadbury, Procter and Gamble, and Peugeot.

’I love it,’ he added. ’It’s an opportunity to work with bright people

and, compared with research, planning presents more variety and

different, unexpected problems every day.’

Brett Gosper, the chief executive of Euro RSCG, said: ’Neil’s rise in

the agency has been meteoric. This industry is fortunate that people

like Neil come along once in a while.’

Dawson was the planner on the Hooper’s Hooch pitch, which the agency won

last year to secure a prized place on the Bass roster. He said: ’The

role of planning in the pitch was to identify a solution and cherish it

on its way through all sorts of media.’
