Dawson quits MCBD for top planning job within TBWA London

Neil Dawson, one of the five stakeholders in Miles Calcraft

Briginshaw Duffy, is quitting the agency to take the planning helm at

Dawson joined MCBD in September 1999. He becomes TBWA's executive

planning director.

Neil Hourston, TBWA's head of planning, will report to Dawson. Dawson

will work at the top of the agency alongside the chief executive, Garry

Lace, and the chairman, Trevor Beattie. He will, however, officially

report to Lace.

The hiring follows the departure of TBWA's former chief executive and

heavyweight planner, Simon Clemmow, two weeks ago.

Lace, who worked with Dawson at Euro RSCG Wnek Gosper, said: 'Neil's

appointment says everything about our commitment to providing clients

with the best strategic advice in the market. He's a mate, a brilliant

planner and will be a key member of our management team.'

Jeremy Miles, the chairman of MCBD, said: 'I'm saddened Neil is leaving,

but he's going to a fantastic job in a great agency.'
