The Department for Children, Schools and Families has appointed Lowe and glue London, and Farm and Lean Mean Fighting Machine, to work on its drive to raise the number of young people studying modern languages, sciences and technology.

Lowe and glue will handle the sciences and technology brief, and will encourage young people to study maths, engineering and science.

Farm and LMFM will share duties on the modern languages brief, which will be promoting French, German, Spanish and Italian.

Delaney Lund Knox Warren & Partners, which pitched alone, Mother and Profero were knocked out of the contest at an earlier stage.

The pitch, which was called in November, came ahead of DCSF's plans to spend £4 million per year across a variety of media, including TV, cinema and digital.
