Debenhams is one of the first big retailers to launch its Christmas campaign and is shifting its usual fashion focus to gifting. JWT London created the activity, which cost one-third of last year’s budget to make. The 60-second TV ad opens on a group of children rummaging through a deserted Debenhams store at night until a little girl finally finds what she’s looking for – a teddy. The soundtrack is Sir Paul McCartney’s We All Stand Together. The work was written by Kat Thomas, art directed by Ronnie Vlcek and Simon Sworn, and directed by David Edwards through Rattling Stick. Carat handled media planning and buying.
