Bates UK has signed Deborah King, a board account director at Lowe
Lintas, to take charge of its showpiece Royal Mail account.
She joins next month and will succeed David Wood as the head of the
pounds 38 million account, the agency’s largest.
Wood is quitting the agency after ten years to become group marketing
director of the domain registration dotcom Netbenefit (Campaign, last
Bates’ Royal Mail business encompasses a broad range of activity from
the promotion of social letters and business mail, to philatelic
services and the exploitation of direct mail as a medium.
King, who is 39, runs Lowe Lintas’s Johnson & Johnson business across
Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and also has responsibility for its
British Telecom and 3Com accounts.
Toby Hoare, the Bates group chief executive, said: ’Deborah has bags of
energy and real strategic ability.’
