JC Decaux has been hit by the the defection of two group heads to

the agency world.

Yoko da Sousa is leaving Decaux to become European account director of

independent poster specialist Poster Publicity, while Aaron Quinn is

leaving to take an outdoor planning and buying role at The Media

Edge.

Decaux sales director Spencer Berwin admitted he was sad to see them go.

’On a business level, it is refreshing we are not losing people to our

rivals. We expect a certain amount of change within our sales operation

and we have not suffered as badly as some other companies. But on a

personal level, I am grateful to Aaron and Yoko for their support,

especially during the merger, and I am very sorry to lose them. They can

come back any time they like.’

It also appears that Jim Carter, regional development director for

Decaux in Manchester, is leaving, possibly to join More Group.

Berwin has wasted no time in replenishing his sales ranks, hiring three

sales executives last week.

They are Chris McLelland, who was working for Carlton, Claire

Constantine, who was senior sales executive on Haymarket Publishing’s

What Car?, and Kate Fitzgerald, who joins from a dotcom. Berwin is

looking for another eight sales executives.
