The Media Edge, the global media network launched by Young &

Rubicam last month, has poached Tempus’s chief operating officer, Johan

Denekamp, to be its first general manager and chief financial

officer.

Denekamp will be based in London and will join the new global board of

the Media Edge, reporting to the company’s president, Paul

Woolmington.

His brief will be to work closely with the Media Edge management group

to apply best practice in business management to the Media Edge’s

offices worldwide.

Woolmington commented: ’Johan has unquestionable calibre and he

possesses a rare blend of financial, business and media management

skills which we will apply to every region of the world. I consider

Johan to be a partner for me in this important endeavour.’

Woolmington and Denekamp worked together when Woolmington was head of

the Bozell Worldwide media operation, BJK&E, a joint venture with

Tempus, which at that time was called the CIA Group.
