DIARY: Barker versus Souter, part two: my agency did better than yours

You can always trust creatives to keep the handbags flying long

after everyone else has forgotten what the fuss was all about. So thanks

to the cheeky BMP staffer who leaked Larry 'ample-arse' Barker's

all-staffer in response to Peter 'whinging prick' Souter's all-staffer

in response to Barker's Private View (Campaign, 16 March). Text as

follows ...

'The sun is shining its golden light particularly brightly on BMP this

morning. Last night at the Grosvenor House we picked up the top prize

with Ed & James's VW 'lost dog' ad. It also picked up a silver in Best

Ad/Consumer Magazine as well as getting commendations and

shortlisted.

Adam and Justin's 'Beetle' work was barely off the screen all night.

Budweiser's heritage work was shortlisted. Our ads got the biggest

cheers of the night.

It was a very proud night for BMP. At the top of the tree where we

belong.

'PS. AMV got a silver. Bless.

'PPS. I was going to send a narky memo about Peter Souter's piece in

Campaign Diary. But then I, too, would be a whinging prick.'

Hmm, what was that they used to say about Omnicom's happy family?
