While some account directors think that dressing up smart and being cute
with clients is what their job is all about, others realise that it goes
much further than this.
Jeremy Bowles, the account chief for Olympus Cameras at Lowe Howard
Spink, is one such man.
On a recent shoot for the new Olympus Mju commercial featuring an
‘ageing’ Naomi Campbell, a clutch of paparazzi arrived to torment the
ad’s star. They were particularly keen to snap a shot of her fully made
up as a 70-year-old granny.
But in order to protect Naomi and the secrecy of the film, Bowles risked
life and limb by co-ordinating and leading a military-style operation to
ward off the press pack. In the ensuing melee, while escorting Naomi
from her caravan, Jeremy left a trail of bruised and battered
photographers as his strong-arm tactics scattered all in his path.
Here he is, looking well-hard with dimpled chin, buttoned-up denim
jacket and a hairdo to scare the bravest of men (by the way, Naomi is
heavily disguised as an umbrella in the background).
All in a day’s work for your average Lowes account man, we hear.
