Diary: Duracell bunny gives AdEaters word-up

So you don't fancy following Dave Cameron's exhortation to hug a hoodie. Well, what about the Duracell bunny instead?

The famous lop-eared character has been spotted hopping from agency to agency, drumming up a bit of support for Night of the AdEaters, which is being hosted by the IPA next Thursday.

Described with not a trace of modesty by its organisers as an "advertainment phenomenon", the event is held in more than 150 cities across 52 countries, and aims to celebrate the best TV and cinema advertising around the world.

Euro RSCG's Gerry Moira and Mark Hunter, and their creative team, Braulio Kuwabara and Fabio Abram, who produced the ads for the adfest, were among those embraced by the giant pink mammal.

And there were cuddles also for Graham Fink and Tiger Savage at M&C Saatchi, as well as Miles Calcraft Briginshaw Duffy's Paul Briginshaw.

The Diary is intrigued by the event at London's Bloomsbury Theatre, where the IPA promises to screen 350 of the world's best TV and cinema ads interspersed by "a menagerie of entertaining acts".

It will be hosted by an elderly rapping drag queen called Ida Barr. "Think granny meets Missy Elliott," an IPA source says. We'd rather not.
