DIARY: EVENING OUT WITH ... CONDe NAST - Colin Grimshaw scrubs up to meet a bit of posh

Absolutely fabulous, dahlings - it’s the Conde Nast agency party, a

’once-every-two-or-three-years’ occasion. Entry is gained via a mock

credit card which promises ’carriages at midnight’.

At the door is the adorable Kate ’O’Mara’ Lowe of Conde Nast Traveller,

resplendent in red leather Gucci biker jacket. She guides me towards a

glass of champagne and introduces GQ’s Maria Parviz, elegant in black

Prada and Gucci loafers. We are soon joined by the delectable Tess

Macleod-Smith who, as befits a Vogue publisher, raises the fashion

stakes with a Versace beaded top, Miu Miu trousers and black ponyskin

Dolce e Gabbana shoes. Presumably the camera is more of a lure than my

urbane charm - for as soon as the film runs out, they disappear.

8.30pm Juliet Fetherston-Haugh and Stephanie Carr have a brace of

appreciative male buyers eating out of their hands. Meantime, Kate Lowe

and Tatler’s Emma Maughan have MediaVest’s Nigel Conway pinned against

the bar. Is it his Chanel account they’re after?

10.00pm The bopping is in full swing and actress Emily Lloyd is spotted

with a mystery man from TMD Carat.

Midnight Optimedia’s Enyi Nwosu is in nirvana, but I’ve had it with

champagne and caviar and decide to split - trouble is, I can’t find a

carriage anywhere.
